Day 212: A Good Omen?

Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - Mario Chalmers made a 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds left to force overtime in the NCAA championship game on Monday night, and give his team a chance to win a game that had seemed almost out of reach just two minutes before. Kansas went on to win, 75-68, in what many are quite-accurately reporting as the "best basketball game of all time."

I asked Mady what she thought about the win, and she said (with no detectable eye-rolling)... "That's great Dad!"

What a fantastic game!! It was made even better by the victory of those goofy Jayhawks. I heard that a Jayhawk is a combination of a chicken hawk and a sparrow --- hmmm.

My best to Mady and Julia. Maybe they will both be chicken hawk fans!!

Trey,

I think Carol has started breathing again after last night. As I told our KU sister-in-law who was trying to make sure her daughter studied for her history test...she was studying; she was watching history being made! Loved your caption of Mario's shot to Mady. Go Mady, go!

I don't usually watch basketball games, but for some strange reason, I just HAD to call you and say"Go Jayhawks!" before the game, and of course , i stayed with watching it, even to the overtime end! What a game! What a team! It was, I agree, the superb "Game of the Year"! GPXXXXOOOO

P.S. It WAS a "Good Omen", especially when we can say "This one's for Mady"! GPXXXXOOOO
