Day 29: Today's ANC is...

Monday, October 8, 2007 - This is great news! For days she has had zero neutrophils, and today she has an ANC (Absolute Neutrophil Count) of 30. ANC is a calculated value, so I'm not sure exactly how many neutrophils that represents, but it's a lot more than ZERO!

It means her bone marrow is starting to do its job. She needs to get to 200 to get out of the hospital... but 500, or 2,000, would be even better!

Keep up the ceremonial neutrophil dances everyone... they're working!

You WILL be going home. May it be sooner rather than later. (I guess it's already later. Oh well.)
I will continue my neutrophil dances because I really love to dance. How did you know I was doing them?
Music therapy...gorgeous wigs...neutrophils...keep on keepin' on. Even though CANCER SUCKS my bracelet says.

When Max, Molly and Sean wake up Tuesday morning they will be delighted to do the neutrophil dance - there will be lots of positive energy in that dance and it's coming to you Mady!

You, your body and your spirit can conquer this! Keep up the good work.

The Neotrophil dance is on at 76 Lorimer Rd. Remember our pyramid here one New Year's eve? We can't wait for you to get back to your room.
